Cramerton

The Rev. Allen Lefler

Pastor of Riverside Baptist Church

I live in Cramerton because ... in 1978 God gave my life back. In that year, I had a ruptured appendix. It was ruptured five days before the doctor had it taken out. I should be dead, but God wanted me to come to Cramerton and minister to some of the finest people on Earth at Riverside.

My town is special because ... it is different. With all the big towns like Charlotte and Gastonia around us, it is good to have that small town feel to it. Someone in our bank said that Cramerton was like Mayberry. So what is so bad about that? Mayberry had two police officers and everyone knew everyone. People care for each other and will help when you ask.

My favorite thing about my town is ... working with the other churches to serve others. We all work to give people in our town food and help.

If I ever left, the thing I would miss the most ... are my friends.

The future of my town is ... hard to say. If we stay working together and trying to serve our Lord, we will grow. If instead we let ourselves go down the easy road, we will harm our children's future and ourselves. So stay with the Lord.
