McAdenville
Gaynell Lineberger
Job: Worked at the Village Restaurant in McAdenville for 50 years.
Good to Know: She recently was named the McAdenville Woman of the Year.
I live here because … I was born and raised here. This is my hometown. I’ve known no other place before. I grew up in a section, they called it Pig Town, below the hill.
My hometown is special because … I love the Christmas lights. We have the first parade the day after Thanksgiving.
My favorite thing about my town is … the people in town. They’re real friendly. You can always depend on the people of McAdenville if anything happens. People stick together. We’re close knit.
If I ever left, the thing I would miss most is … I don’t ever want to leave McAdenville. I lived in Catawba Heights for the first 10 years of my marriage. Then we bought land here. I’ve been here 40-something years.
The future of my town is … They tore up the homes. I really miss the homes that were there and the way they were decorated at Christmas. I hope the mills pick up, so people can get jobs.
