Ranlo

Jane McArver

Church: Member of Maylo United Methodist Church.

Family: Her father, John McArver moved to Ranlo in 1922 and her mother, Flossie McArver moved there in 1937.

I live in Ranlo because … it is HOME. I lived the first 11 years of my life here. I have gone to Maylo Church all my life (64 years) and decided in 1983 to build a home here and move back. I would not want to live anywhere else.

My hometown is special because … of all the people around me that I have known for many years. Ranlo is convenient. It is close to everything, yet it has the small community feeling. Neighbors know each other and look after each other.

My favorite thing about my town is … having family nearby and knowing I have good neighbors who care.

If I ever left, the thing I would miss the most is … not being able to say that Ranlo is my home. I have always been proud to tell anyone who will listen how much I love Ranlo.

Bet you didn’t know… the name Ranlo is a combination of the names Rankin and Love.

The future of my town is … really looking up. We have two new developments behind my church on Mitchem Road. One development (Mountain View) is on 100 acres of land where we played as children.
